I love how creative 4Kids is so creative and gave Mihawk the same voice as Cahbaji's (sp?). And Patty calling hime "frenchie" was even worse.

Poor, poor One Piece. All these changes keep getting worse and worse. I still shudder to think what they will do to the Arlong arc, and what's with Zoro not getting any kind of wound from Mihawk?! That thing is still with him at the end of the next story arc, and it STILL has to be stiched up again later. Oh well, I'm not watching the DUB anyway...but still.  |

After watching those clips, I've seen how great the voice acting is in the original One Piece. I can't wait to get my boxsets!

Oh yes, I love the Japanese voices. They are perfect for the characters, unlike the joke that is the English dub. I'm still hoping that someone will redub it better. Just because I feel that a good dub is a nice compliment to a good series. 4Kids is awfully cheap, they don't want to spend money on good voice acting, and they don't want to spend money to get the rights to the original score, so they hire a cheap guy on a synthesizer. And they wonder why the ratings suck.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to read the great dialogue with the poorly translated subtitles from Hong Kong Bootlegs (my clips are from Kaizoku-Fansubs) ;D

One Piece Japanese voices are awesome!
*laughes again as Luffy sounds just like Kuririn from DB*
My favorite voice actor is the one who does Sanji's voice though(currently my favorite voice actor).
Second is Tony Tony Chopper, with a very famous voice actress(she did Pikachu from Pokemon for one).

I did notice that Mihawks sword is not edited in the opening theme for the show!
It's still very crosslike. It was so much shorter when they showed him during the show.
[moronic 4kids moment] Zolo is such a pansy. He acts all hurt when all Mihawk did was cut his shirt twice. He doesn't have a scratch on him. [/moronic 4kids moment]

those clips were exellent. I can't believe 4kids would even THINK that something that bloody would be a kids' show. (oh wait, yes I can.)

If you are going to watch Uncut Onepiece, the fansubs that I would recomend would be from Kaizoku fansubs, such as the ones that were in the clips posted. Most of the other fansubs out there are poorly done.
As far as stuff that Sanji's seiyuu has done, currently he is doing Sha Gojyo in Saiyuki, and also a lesser character in Naruto named Genma(The one with the long metal toothpick-like thing). Ikue Ootani has done so much more than just Pikachu though, just one example is Konohamaru in Naruto, for current stuff.

Glad you like the clips.  There are more clips in that thread from previous episodes if you look back in the other pages of the thread. Yes, if you have a fast internet connection, K-F fansubs is the way to go. BTW, don't judge the video quality by my clips, the fansub video and audio quality is really great, just my clips look and sound like crap because I made them in Windows Movie Maker. Oh yeah, I think Kazuya Nakai is also Jan Valentine in Hellsing. I've only seen the English dub of Hellsing, but I think I would like the Japanese version much better, even thought the dub isn't too bad. In this case it's the opposite problem, I'd rather NOT have to hear a character say F*** every other word along with all other kinds of excessively foul English slang. |
