Dub Nami has the same VA as flora from The winx club. du sanji sounds like he is a drunken newyorker.. and little dub sanji has the same VA as 'ash' from pokemon. MUST 4kids use their same VAs in ALL of ther animes?  |

I recently went painstakingly through their latest release of One Piece to gather mistakes, edits, dumb speak, pointless cuts, completely rearranged scenes, etc. But anyways, it took me a good chunk of 12 hours. But I got 28 screenshots of places they screwed up with. Several forgotten edits. Several sloppy edits, etc. I plan to join their horridly colored forums to point these things out. I can diss them into the ground, and they shouldn't care. But if they do ban me, it's because of all of the blood I showed on the forum. Muah ha ha ha! I have a picture of all of the edits and changes they did. img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/demonperson/finalcut.gif (1280x1024) The top line is the origional, which I had to move in some places because of moved/reused scenes. the bottom is the 4kids version, and the screen at the bottom left is the most edited part blood wise. |

Still, Is this a shot of an editing program used by 4kids or is this something of you're own? And what program is it? (my 100th post!, Yatta!) This is one of my programs that is used for creating professional quality videos. I just doubled the width to put the two episodes side by side in comparison. The program I used is called Sony Vegas 4.0. There is a 5.0, but I don't have it. (Congrats on 100 posts, I guess) |

I didn't watch today's episode (I think I got it on tape, unless NASCAR showed instead) but I heard that Don Krieg's projectile spikes were turned into...POISONOUS SUCTION CUPS. How uttlerly ridiculous. And apparently it didn't hurt Luffy when he punched the spiked cape. This was originally a very bloody scene. Also, they had to remove a scene where Luffy is pulling the spikes out of his body one by one and saying "my grave, your grave, my grave...like hell. Don't decide my grave. I'm not meant to die here!" I expected that scene to be gone. Pity, since it's rather pointed (no pun intended). I'll make a video clip of it. >D BTW, it seems One Piece Uncensored is gone. I wonder if Zeke is just changing servers, or if he just got tired of it all and pulled it all down like he has often threatened to do. XD |

Oh wow, that is no rumour, they were suction cups, poisonous ones though (creative, I give you that).. 4kids editors must have been payed a weeks salary for all the editing they did. Even though I never saw the original, I cringed while watching OP today. It was so obviously edited, with the standard accidental dark lines of blood left in sort of thing... Not to mention how pathetic the suction cups looked..... So much blood gone... it was almost silly... On a good note, I found ALL actors involved did a better job than OP usually sees, Gin's "dying" scene is handled well, he does a good, "I am poisoned" sorta thing. Sanji sounded *slightly" better (so, only a negative 20 out of a hundred now  ), and Luffy has a few... well, mabey a couple good moments. |

With all the editing they do for this show they must be paid like a years salary per episode! There is so much blood cut it's unbelievable. Not to mention how the bullets magically turned into suction cups half way through. And also the forgotten edits, like blood on Gin's face. OP is not a kid's show. It should've gone on Toonami, where they only edit the blood black, and leave in some of the swearing. But still, almost every frame had to be edited for blood. If that gives you an idea about how much they edit/censor. |

I have to dissagree, in a sense,One Piece may not be an "American" kids show, but I am pretty sure it is marketed to the "Shonen" croud in Japan, which is, sort of kids... Older kids, early teens...
Yah, I guess stuff like blood on Gin's face would be a forgotten edit....
I must say, in the Shonen Jump manga version, when Luffy punched the spike cape. The blood did make it way more dramatic and really emotional. I mean, Luffy was obviously in huge amounts of pain. Now, I think 4kids should have left SOME of the blood in, just for emphasis...., because, now kids are gonna think Luffy is some sort of superman..... Poor kids...
Shaman king has kept blood on some occasions, I wonder if next season we will get better treatment due to the change in timeslot....
Is it possible Shaman King and One Piece are dubbed by different "sub-groups" of 4kids?...

What I'm trying to say is that they're marketing to kids under 12. Toonami markets a little older of a crowd, mabey 13-15. Also, think about it, Fullmetal Alchemist was a Shonen anime, and look where it went! If it were on toonami, then alot would not have to be edited out. Like for some reason "Marines" are bad  , and "Navy" is good. That would go back to normal. Blood is edited out left and right, and sometimes both! They would keep the blood, but color it black. I however don't know what they would do about Sanji's cigarette, I guess they would leave it in. I really hate that 4kids had to turn it into a lollipop. |

Yah, I see what you are saying...
I personally thought they should have just made Sanji's cigarette a stick, or, something.... I mean, the fact that kids are seeing him holding it like a cigarette is definately gonna raise some eyebrows with parents anyways. And it is a poorly edited lolipop at times aswell....
But, I guess there is really no option in this case, it is a little annoying, but, that is the one edit I can see them getting away with, even if the channel which obtained it aired it at a later timeslot.
Yah, the whole, Marines/Navy thing is so weird.....
I guess because I don't get Cartoon Network, I am unawair how much better it is than 4kids. I just see it as a kids action block.

I think the reason for the Marines/Navy thing is because Marines is a strictly American thing, whereas Navy can be any number of countries. I never did get to see today's episode. They did run a NASCAR thing instead. But just hearing about the suction cups is enough. I made a couple of clips from the original so you can see Luffy get shot full of spikes and then pull them out. ;D I hate to sound like a broken record, but yeah, it's stupid Angelfire, you have to either save the file to your compy by right-clicking or copy and paste the URL into your browser to see them. www.angelfire.com/anime5/kikaider/luffyvkrieg.wmvwww.angelfire.com/anime5/kikaider/spikes.wmvBTW, the only time slot on Cartoon Network that wouldn't have significant editing is Adult swim. I understand the reason behind it. The crimes of bad acting, cheesy dialogue, crappy background music, and plot wankering are far worse. |

Oh dang, those scenes were totally destroyed...
Funny thing is, I swear they were spikes when they were being fired, but then TURNED into suction cups when he was pulling them out... meh.
I must say, that is the first time I have really heard One Piece BGM (I guess I could have heard it in the movies and speacials I have watched... but meh, I dont remember) and I must say, the music in that first movie link was awsome. It just was so... energetic, it just made my heart pump so much more than the recycled stuff 4kids plays.
