Sanji honestly sounds like some sort of "Godfather" reject .
Seriously though whoever is responsible for picking the english VA's should have been fired a looooooooooooooong time ago, they just don't make any effort at all.
My cousin brought over a couple of OP eps he recorded in Germany and so far the only VA I'm not too keen on is Choppers but even he isnt all that awful either and most of the cast have at least somewhat similar voices to the original. check out a clip here .

Hehe, that was interesting to watch. It's the "Usopp Angel!" episode, too. XD It's nice to see that the German dub keeps the original music score. 4Kids are such cheap bastards.

Usopp, Nami and Sanji's German voices are great. Crap, Sanji is perfect. Fancy that. XD Chopper's is definately not right, but it's not annoying, and Luffy's is kind of strange, but he seems to have the right attitude. No Zoro and Robin in the scene to tell.

That is most DEFINITELY origionional background music, considering I recently watched part of that filler... (Couldn't stand the suckiness, it was too, non-One Piece manga for me, so I skipped to 144.) Anyways, the voices do NOT suck. Usopp's (Lysop's) voice does NOT make small children cry*; however, Choppers voice (keep in mind Chopper is voiced by the VA who voices Konohamaru (Naruto)) is way too deep, however, not annoying as Cosmic mentioned; "Lorenor Zorro" I guess that's Zoro's name, at least pronunciation is similar on the "Zoro" part!

So, anyone wanna relicence One Piece yourselves?

I'm not in any position to license a show myself. ^^; I just wish Funimation had grabbed it when they had the chance.

Yeah, but who knows, maybe we'll get lucky, and 4kids'll drop the show, along with the licence, so FUNi does have an opportunity to snag it. But if 4kids does decide to continue with the licence, I wouldn't be surprised if it was so heavily edited that they'd finish the Arabasta arc by christmas, no, let's think more realistically, Thanksgiving...

I have this gut feeling, that One Piece is the next DBZ, not as in it's big in popularity, but it will probably be dropped by 4Kids eventually, and then picked up by another company.

I honestly wouldn't doubt it if 4kids decided dropped the licence after they finish mutilating the current number of episodes they have licenced. They may decide to make an episode to finish their series, but another company, most likely FUNimation, will licence it from the start and dub it right. Because we all know how much 4kids want's to deal with this:

Zoro: Well, if we're gonna die here anyway, why not make it ugly and struggle a little?

Two questions: As of now, dosent 4Kids only have like, 2 episodes left though? And thats including all of the merged episodes and that mini-arc that was skipped.

And, how are the ratings for the show currently on 4KrapTV and Toonami?

Yeah, I think they only have a few more episodes to release, more than 2 I think though, but not too much more. As for ratings, they both are worse than the ratings for the show breifly on FOX called, "That '80s Show"

Here's a dub viewer rating. There's so many things I find wrong with it...

1: They say the violence is "not bloody" Refer to Ep: 28 9:47, or basically any fight there is.
2: They call "Sexual Content" not an issue for kids. Refer to Ep: 128 9:18
3: Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco they also say it's not an issue. Refer to Ep: 1 3:21; Sanji's charachter

That's all I'm going to say, there's certainly more wrong with that 'review' but I won't mention it here.

I hate critics, they bash the shit out of anything. But first things first, they've only seen the dub. If they weren't focusing on what is wrong, they can look past that and see the theme of the whole show. They say this show isn't educational, so they bash it, but these are probably the same people who love the shit out of Spongebob Squarepants. The thing is though this is the dub they're looking at, but they probably won't care.

Ok I have nothing real to really add to this but...i had to bring it up..XD;

I had OP muted because the dub hurts my ears. But i unmuted it cause i was gonna mess with my mankin tape, and there was this...4kids insert song playing in the backround of the ep. They were cooking stuff, and 4kids made an insert song XD i was laughing, and i wondered what you guys who have seen the original thought?My guess was the song was completely a 4kids addition, but i could be wrong..either way....it was still funny xDD

Wait a moment. I'm confused. You guys hate the dub, yes? You hate it all the more because many of you have seen the original. But when someone else hates it, even if they've ONLY seen the dub and not the original, this is wrong? A bad show is a bad show.

The review said the show was bad on TWO counts. The lack of education being one. the lack of being ENJOYABLE being another.
The impression I got from the review was that the show could be forgiven for not being educational if it was entertaining. However, as we all know, the dub for the most part ISN'T all that entertaining. Most of what made the original One Piece entertaining have been drastically changed in the dub.

I think as an article that is reviewing the DUB ONLY, that review is actually spot on. Why should they reveiw the original when it isn't actually available in the U.S ?
