I haven't seen any new episodes of the original One Piece in a while! Wooo~

Actually, that's a bit depressing....

It's just that I need to clear my hard drive and stuff. I've been busy... I'm sorry!

On another note:
At the anime con, Anime Fest Orlando, that I went to the other week, they didn't have many One Piece CD's. Just some vocal albums and a few movie soundtracks.
I want a series soundtrack dang it! I love the music in this show so much v_v .....

I've downloaded quite a few tracks myself. There's a thread at AP where people are always just requesting a certain track, and people post it. I don' t know if you know this, but once a movie comes out, the music generally makes its way into the series. So a lot of what you here in the series actually is movie music, especially the later on you get in the series. Movie 4 and 6 are my favorite soundtracks.

I have a CD that has the first two openings and all the endings up to "Free Will", plus the song "Family". I wonder if there's a corresponding CD with the next two openings and the rest of the endings up until now.

Today's episode was alright, not too much to talk about. Dalton's voice is good, Wapol's was kind of lame, but wtf, why does Kuromarimo sound like a cowboy and Chess sounds like Kermit the Frog? XD And here I thought they couldn't make those guys any worse.
This is one of those episode where Usopp's voice bugs me more than Sanji's. I think one of the few lines that he said that were similar to the original was when he was talking in his sleep. But I thought it was funny when Sanji said "why don't you go soak in her cauldron, hot tub boy?". (even though it basically was part of the sacrifice of taking out his "Must-Not-Go-To-the-Next-Island-Disease").

Incidentally, one thing that bummed me out just a tiny bit was that they cut out the part where Usopp gets up extra early trying to repair Merry. I know it's not a huge deal, but just another one of those "we must not let Usopp have any redeeming qualities" moments.

In terms of music, I was flipping through the channels this morning, and when I came across Fox, they had One Piece on, and at that very moment....

BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

The worst sound I ever heard coming from my TV! And that was supposed to be considered "more westernized music"!? It was even more obnoxious than the last time I saw the show! (which was back in Lougetown) Needless to say, I only had that on for about 3 seconds before I switched to the Weather Channel

Aside from my music rant, I don't really like the way Chopper sounds, although I haven't seen any of the original episodes with him. So, does he sort of sound girly (as Sanji put it) in the Japanese version, or has the dub misplaced his voice?

I found it funny, in this weeks dub, how when they arrived at the unnamed country, they origionally only colored the guns, but while Dalton was walking away from the ship they were magically changed to SUPER SOAKERS!!! Also, they left the scars on Zoro's legs from when he tried to cut them off in the 4kids-non-existant Little Garden arc.

Takinawa - I have Japanese Chopper clips if you want to hear him. Ikue Ootoni does his voice in Japanese...you know, the person who does Pikachu.

I just watched the Japanese episode, and I noticed some stuff that was cut that I didn't think about before.
For one thing, they changed the "hiking bear" into something else...I don't even remember what they said. So they cut a scene that came after that where a really large woman walks by and Usopp says "Luffy, look another hiking bear!" and they bow. XD I'm not sure if I missed it, but I think they also cut the part where the civilians talk about the election and how they want to vote for Dalton, and Dalton responds by saying "no, you mustn't! I'm guilty of too many sins!"
And they also cut the part where Sanji looks out the window and gets scared by Luffy's snowman and Usopp's snow dinosaur, unless they move it over to the next episode.

Choppers VA also voices Konohamaru, the voices are very similar. But yeah, they changed "Hiking Bear" to "Mountain Man". They called him "Teddy" and said he ate the last "Mountain Man". Also, I noticed they mentioned death at least twice in this episode!
Usopp: Everybody play DEAD!
The other one I don't exactly remember, but I do remember the word "Death".

4kids is now messing with Daltons history now, they didn't mention how Blackbeard ravaged the town before, probably because they are not planning on the licence to continue for much longer.

The scene with the larger woman is in the next episode I think. 4kids left off with the clip from 81 when Kureha is going to break into the bar/restaurant, but they left Vivi/Luffy/Sanji/Nami/etc. back halfway through ep. 80.

Vivi screaming in pain is severely unconvincing. Just ask if you want an audio clip. This is when she's almost shot in the shoulder. Which, surprisingly, they left the close up of the gun, only painted green.

I could only start watching it about half-way through, so I don't have anything with Wapol, although I did hear his weak russian accent.

They did mention that pirates attacked the town. But even in the Japanese episode I don't think they mentioned blackbeard yet. I'm pretty sure he doesn't say that until he's riding with Usopp and Vivi in the carriage.

Nah, he mentions Blackbeard after Luffy, Sanji, and Nami leave. Dalton was sitting outside with Vivi and Usopp when he talked about the attack.

By the way, I saw my first Water 7 episode this morning, my friend gave me the download. I'm really interested in Water 7 now, I just wish I wasn't so behind in the manga.

Heh, I go by the Shonen Jump manga, and they're ALMOST halfway through the Arlong arc! Its still nice to read a non-bastardized version of the story though ^ _ ^
