Problem is no one really answers the question in that thread... Yeah I took a look at that thread.... If its OK, I'd like to keep the question that I posted here and that other section too. Dosen't seem like the 'Video Game' threads get much love anyways...

I have a question for anyone whose has seen the original episode of whatever dub number this was. Did the original episode have the scene where Kureha holds a scapel to Nami's throat, threatening her not to try and leave before she was completely cured? I ask because in today's episode, they showed a thermometer spinning in her hand, then in the part where she pinned Nami down, it seemed something was badly edited out of her hand, and it was the same hand that had her spinning "thermometer." Also, did they edit out the arrows in Dalton's chest when he was uncovered originally? Yes, yes, and yes. Kureha originally held a scalpel, NOT a thermometer, and it was VERY BADLY EDITED out of her hand (especially with the whole pinned-to-Nami-with- 139-year-old-flesh-and-bones-and-not-99-and-a-half-f**king-years-dub-piece-'DR. K'-shit[/minirant]). And the arrows were edited out of Daltons chest (At least to my memory for the Dalton part). EDIT: From now on, to avoid confusion with the original, just call the Dubbed One Piece, "Dub Piece" since it's been edited beyond recognition of the original for quite some time now...

It was wierd that they kept the part where she was throwing all of those knives at Luffy and Sanji when they were chasing Chopper. I thought they were going to change the knives into poison suction cups or deadly rocket themometers or something dumb like that.

The knives don't actuallly HIT them, though. So it's not a big deal.

Well, it's official - Prospective Cash Cows get royal treatment. ;D Alright. Well, for once, I give 4Kids a small amount of kudos for Chopper's voice and SO FAR keeping Chopper's past decent. All the bad stuff happens in the second half, of course, so we'll see what happens. I hope they at least will keep the part about the mushroom. And Chopper imitating Hirluluk's laugh is amazingly perfect. It's really sad how they flash back to Luffy, Sanji, and Kureha with their awful voices. Also, proof once again that the writers of the dub are really out of touch with current slang. Luffy actually said "It'll be a gas". Didn't that phrase become outdated, like, in the 70's? And "They'll be tickled pink!" Holy crap on a stick, could it get any lamer than that?

Okay i finally saw Dub Piece today because I 1.)forgotwhat time it was on and 2.)I was workin' last week.
Anyway, only saw half of it when they're switching back and forth to Chopper's flashbacks and whatnot though.I like Chopper's english VA and to me it sounds a bit like his original voice.Maybe a little girlier but better then others...
I guess as Cosmic said, the next eppy is where some major edits will be for Chopper's past. We'll see.
Oh and still smacking my brother for liking the Dub Piece opening.I thank thee,Throes for posting that site with the original songs on it again. My bro might not understand why the originals are better then the dub but I love them!XD

Y'know, If you've got the space, you should download a batch from Kaizoku Fansubs (ep. 81-90 feature the appearance of Chopper, and 4krap showed #85 this morning, and NON-merged! who would have thought?) Then make your brother watch 'em, see if he still likes Dub Piece after that!
I can't really rant alot about this episode....although I would like to point out that the way that the way the dialog was changed during that little fight between Hiluluk and Chopper made it seem as though they wern't talking about "my first fight (A line spoken by Chopper)" as it was in the original.
Now I'm kinda intrested to see how the really emotional stuff is gonna be handled in the next episode...
*** Which is mainly Chopper unknowingly giving Hiluluk a poisonous mushroom in hopes to combat Hiluluk's terminal illness, and Hiluluk's suicide bombing.

Sorry in advance for the double post. But 4kids must be taking notes from VIZ, because they actually left Hiruluk (aka. Dr. H.) drinking the solution that blew himself up in... Well, it was implied, but I really would like it if 4kids would just be less bitchy and say "kill" or "die" or words suchlike. Because the phrase "did in" is getting annoying...
HE DID HIMSELF IN! BELIEVE IT! *shot*

Today:
--Music and voices still suck
--They said "Amiudake", whad'dya know?
--Too many happy-flower euphemisims for implying Hiluluk's death, and no suicide explosion? (Yet you still see Chopper diving through black smoke in the following scene. Either way, Hiluluk's death got kinda f**ked.)
--And for a tidbit: "You may lock up my body but you can't lock up my spirit!"--Dub Dalton in the dungeon. Rates a 15 on the cliche-o-meter (scale 1-10)
--Oh, and an annoying onslaught of vomit-related jokes.
FUN FACT (for the near future): The VA for Gaimon is gonna play Crocodile when the Alabasta arc comes around.
