Also there's this one game that I got from Target in 2002 called "SuperStar Dance Club #1 Hits!!" It's really good and I like it,but you just need a joy stick instead of a dance mat.

Argh, I wish I had DDR, I only have a GC and N64. My friend has DDR and I mooch off of her. Its so fun. My mom calls them "pointless", wheras I call them "addictive". I cant wait for someone to go to a club and start busting out the DDR moves.

For our Gamecube people. Mario DDR! www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3561You have to scroll down a little on the page for some pictures and info. I'm hoping it has better music than the US release of Donky Konga...

For the older DDR games released in the U.S. "Konamix" is your best shot. It's for the Playstation. Lots of good songs on there.
Changing the topic a bit. Apparently a U.S home version of Pump it Up is going to come out soon. In August I beleive. I'm really looking forward to that.
On a sadder note, my old DDR pad died the other day. I am still in mourning.

Pump it Up is a dancing game similar to DDR. The most obvious difference is that the location of the buttons/foot arrows are different. more infoApparently there is an older U.S Pc version out there. But the songlist SUCKS. The one coming out in August for the PS2 apparently has a much better playlist. PiU can occasionally be found at random arcades. The nifty thing about Pump it Up is that due to the button locations, the game actually has more potential than DDR to look like "real" dancing when played. I say "potential" because for some of us, regardless of the game or system, we will ALWAYS look like Jackrabbits on crack . The "harder" levels of PiU are also VERY hard. You can actually be forced to make turns, hold the bar, and even use your hands (3 or more buttons at once.) Me? I manage at PiU, but I'm only average. I'm no-where NEAR a "great" player. The arcade somewhat near (20 minutes) to my house has recently aquired a new PiU machine. So new, that the dance pad was blissfully responsive *happy siiiiigh*. I haven't had the chance to go back to it for a couple of weeks though. The dark side of PiU is obsessive DDR fans. Since transfering from DDR to PiU is a bit of a challenge. Many DDR fans won't give PiU more than one try before declaring the game a "rip off" and claiming it "sucks" .

...and I still think Pump it Up sucks...however, I'm willing to admit it was one of the earlier versions of it that I played, and I'd been playing 3rd mix DDR (one of the best mixes) for about a year.
If you can Mana, look into what it will take to mod a playstation one and get 3rd mix or 5th mix or both...I see that some of the songs from both of these just showed up last year in the US version of DDR Extreme.
We've got PS Xchange ver 2.0 (2.0 lets you put in cheat codes and disable mod checking)...I think it cost us 20 bucks when it was new...3rd mix ran me 30 bucks with two pads when it was new...so I've gotta believe it's come down...
Although I just checked ebay twice and I can't find a good cheap copy of 3rd.
I see someone is selling two pads and konamix for 21 bucks though...

I love DDR!! ;D Since I don't have a game console of any kind I'm not all that skilled. My favorite (and only) version of DDR I play is DDR Extreme. Since I don't have a game console I play at an arcade called Nickle Nickle. (You can tell I'm poor can't you? ) I only go there once in a while which is the reason why I can only play one song on the Light Level. (that song being Speed Over Beethoven). Can someone assure me that I'm not the only one who sucks at this game? Also a mock version of DDR called Jump Jump Dance was shown in Malcom in the Middle.

Heh heh. I saw that episode of Malcom. I like the "ghetto" home version they played/practiced with XD.
Anyhoo... The arcade game, "Pump it Up Exceed 2" is sooooo much fun. After a lot, LOT of games, I was finally able to pass my first "6foot" song on there. One day, I hope I can attempt a 14 footer.... Anyhoo... I think I like PiU so much because it has a lot of remixes of classical music ^^;. I just love those tunes...
I went to another mall today, and they had a DDR machine with a HORRIBLE dance pad ;_; . Stupid thing doesn't register my holds. I'm not THAT light. register darn it!
Oh, and for those of you who noticed. Yes, I played BOTH games at TWO different locations today. My legs hurt so much now ^^;.... I think I may die....

I'm too scared to play DDR. XD I saw a middle-aged otaku guy play a Japanese dance game called Para Para Paradise at Funsville once. I stood there listening to the J-pop coming from it. Free J-pop. Yee. xD
