I have no clue why I said that Rakgi was Mona Marshall.. I KNOW that it's Brianne Siddall (there goes my desire to finish Xenosaga again before episode 2... I HATE that kid)... I know I found Mona Marshall... now who was it?
chaos: she's checking her cast list now..
hush, don't give away my secrets!
hmm... didn't write it down... gomen! I guess that's what the credits are for!!
Jr- You'll have fun later in the game with that name... there's a Star named Jeremy...
Lovely- this is also my reasoning for why, even though I didn't mind the silent hero in Suiko 1 and 2, it's driving me nuts in 4. Another:
Character (spoken): What do you think? Hero: ((silence)) Character (spoken): You're right! I never would've thought of that!
Umm... as someone pointed out on the GameFAQs board, at least let him gesture or use sign language!!
Yes, and why did Noah have to have Sherry Lynn's voice? They should've switched Noah and Rita's voice (Rita is Mihoshi...)
Jr- Yes, beyblade, I mean, Basil's top game is fun. I discovered it. Yes, you get him later. In Suikoden, if a character has a name, picture, and unique sprite/model, then they're either a Star, an enemy, or an important character who will probably die. They don't waste names, pictures, and unique sprites/models on unimportant characters.
Yeah, I hate Snowe... bad...
Lottery: I don't know about getting money from the lottery (I haven't), but here's what the prizes are (you might have to recruit the lottery guy first, though):
1st- Pirate King Crown (replaced by Diamond after win) 2nd- Sunbeam Orb 3rd- Jizo Clock (Sacrificial Jizo, you stupid translators!!) 4th- Mega Medicine 5th- Medicine
man... I remember when medicine was actually USEFULL in the game...
heheheh... I had 56 lottery tickets earlier this evening...
Oh, and the thing with Lilin... her speech is broken because mermaids don't use English... none of the others speak well, either.
heheh... the first two "hallways of darkness" are the best... the latter two aren't as fun (since you don't get any NEW story).
**is now about to go to the final area of the game... and has 34 hours clocked... stupid minigames...**

I think it's called "Jizo Clock" because you can use it in battle (that's the impression I got from the description anyways), as opposed to the "Sacraficial Jizo" in past games which you didn't "use" persay, but had to equip to get it's resurection effects.
Hm... I actually have a book about anime stuff that goes into deeper detail about the signifigance of Jizo statuetes. I'll post it tomorrow. (because it really is really late and I should be getting to bed ^^;.)

Jizo Clocks are your resurrection items (I know because I've had to use them already T_T). Well, I see that the minigame people (like the dice guy in Middleport) will join me later? There's a character named Jeremy? I've NEVER seen a game with my name in it before ( These are tears of joy)!!! It'll get wierd if I use him in my party though. I'll have two people with the same name!! Umm I already asked this but I'll ask again anyway: How do you utilize your support characters? I have Louise in my party and it says she heals, but when and how? All I can do is look at her stats and that is just a picture of her. Oh well, I'm sure I'll figure it out soon enough. I actually stood in the swirly hallway for about 2 min. because I thought it was supposed to be a cinematic. Me: Man this is boring! Wife: That's probably because you're supposed to move. Me: (moves character) .......oh!

Lovely- If you notice, you CAN'T equip items in this game like in the first three (thank goodness... that was so annoying...). However, it's still your ressurection item, and, as they did with MANY things in this game, Konami for some reason decided to change the way they've translated it for 3 games... Sacrificial Jizo... Unite... etc...
Jr- Yeah, I did that too...
Oh, but both of you, be sure that you use more than just a "standard" party, and try to level other people's weapons as well... there'll come a point where you need 2 parties, and if you don't have anyone to fill the 2nd party with... (I didn't find anyone who joins at a higher level than 30).

I just recruited Mitsuba from Na-Nal. Once I get three new members I plan on taking out a new party to level up with.
Lovely, you want to play a game from the bowels of Hades? Check ouy Rita in Na-Nal!! OMG!!! Not only did I not understand the rules, but the game was over in like two turns and I was just sitting there looking blankly at the screen going: "What...just....happened...here?"
then I lost money, which I didn't even realize I was betting! How much did I lose? I can't even tell you that. Even if you refuse to play another game she takes even more money from you. I felt like I was mugged!!
The card game wasn't that bad. I wupped Noah a few times at a 5000 potch game and got some pearls that sell for an obsene amount of potch. Like 6000 or something.
Dessa: I won potch from Obel's lottery. I found Nay and tried to play the lottery in the Kobold village and it is SO rigged! How can you play 23 times and never get above 4th place. What kind of scam are they running here?
I've leveled up considerably. Like 33 or something and the Angel Hairball in the ruins still beats the snot out of me. Is their some kind of way to not be humiliated by a white glowing furball? None of the enemies around give me any kind of good experience points anymore. I get like 12 points per battle now.
Hmm I find myself as somewhat of a hot spring critic. Let me tell ya, hot springs are where the action is!!! Never have I seen so much excitement. (I hope you note my sarcasm) Let's see some movement people!!! Talk about a bunch of stiffs!!

Jr- The Angel Hairballs are optional bosses... I wouldn't fight them until you're at least level 45 or so... You get good stuff from them, though... I found 4: Golden Hammer, Guardian Robe, Hero Armor, and Chaos Shield.
However, I did beat the game today...
** The ending sucks... it's not THAT bad, but they got really lazy on some of the character endings, and the very end... well, let's just say that the normal ending is BETTER than the good ending, in terms of leaving you with a decent feeling.

Not only did I not understand the rules, but the game was over in like two turns and I was just sitting there looking blankly at the screen going: "What...just....happened...here?" Muwahah, I beat her on my first try . The game is a form of Mahjong (I think), though I've never played Mahjong before I've seen it played before so I had a BIT of an inkling of what to do ^^ . In other news... Good lord this game is boring the heck out of me. The most fun part i HAD today was beating Rita at her game ;_; ... (I know I'm complaining a lot, but I was such a HUGE fan of the first 3 games. I wasn't expecting that much out of this one, but still...)

I've played Mahjongg. Not even the devil himself could come up with a more hellish game.

I have a question for Dessa.
After I aquire THE BOAT, does anything.... i dunno.. DRAMATIC happen? I am bored to death with this game and I am just so upset about the whole thing that I 'm considering just dropping it for a while. The most exciting thing for me so far is the mahjong like mini-game. A MINI-GAME is the most exciting thing for me (and that's only 'cause I'm not bad at it and win most of the time.)
So, Dessa, what's your opinion, should I keep on keeping on? Drop the game temporarily until my mind reaches a higher plane? Or should I just quit the game forever? OR am I at a good place to just get over my bordum and just finish it?
Thanks and sorry for putting up with my rants guys.

So, by "THE BOAT", you mean "THE BOAT", right?
So now you're in the "get everyone to join you" phase of the game (or at least you will be after you follow Kika). That doesn't last too long (make sure you get all the recruitable characters, though!), and then the game REALLY starts to pick up.
The last fight in the game is the best, though... although Chibi-sama probalby wouldn't agree.

Yeah... I'm currently "following"* Kika. Dang.... so you suggest I keep playing then? Man, It's just that with every hour of play I hate this game more and more v_v . The only reason I'm considering continuing to play is your suggestion and the fact that I hate the idea that I wasted money on this "game".
*"Following" definition: traveling sloooowly through the water (even WITH the fast kid and pressing R1) whilst getting in a boring, slowly loading battle every 1.5 seconds. fun.

LOL! Does Kika have the same VA as Helba from .hack? Sounds very similar. I won the lottery in Nay. Obviously by accident since Bang proceeded to say, "I don't remember putting a gold one in there..... Oh we have a winner!! Moron. And I meant to ask about treasure maps since I have like a ba-jillion of them, but I found out already!! I don't know why you're so bored Lovely. I love the little things the game offers. I like the trading posts. It's fun to see how much money you can make (not that making money is ever a problem in this game). I'll avoid Rita's tile game of death. I don't know how you have so much trouble with the card game but can win the tile game so easily Lovely. I'm sure you think the same about me though. ^^; I just defended Obel from the Kooluk's. I passed out and awoke in my bedroom after using the rune of punishment. Ornan = Wastrel!!! XO What kind of idiot starts a battle asleep. What good is that? Wakes up berserked? He doesn't do any more damage than Mitsuba!!

My main problem is that for me, the NUMBER 1 Thing in any game is characters with.. character! Suikoden IV doesn't have that, so I simply don't care what happens to the cast.
Suikoden 1-3 made me cry (especially 2). Suikoden IV makes me yawn.
That and town design in IV is just poor. The previous games had this great feeling of culture to towns and each place really stood out. IV so far has been mostly... grays. The best designed town so far has been the Nay-Kobold village. (btw- Nay-Ko = Neko . It's a pun .)
By the way, the fun little things in IV were in the previous games as well. Though trading was implemented much better in III .
Well, if you get the chance Jr. I suggest you find and play Sui3 sometime. It's really fun (really, REALLY long though).

After spending more than a FREAKIN HOUR trying to travel in the ocean to get from the pirates hideout to ANY ISLAND. I give up. I can't stand this game. Ocean travel is a bitch. Dessa, spoil the crap out of me. I want to know basically all the plot points (I'm especially interested in Jeanne and Ted.) But I simply CAN NOT stand to play this game anymore >_< .I'm going back to Star Ocean 3 and World of Warcraft. Anybody want to buy a slightly used Suikoden IV? I'm seriously considering selling the damned thing now.

**attempts to calm Lovely's rage**
Lovely, don't give up yet... I will tell you the single greatest thing this game has going: YOU CAN GET VIKI RIGHT NOW!!!
Yes, you heard me, VIKI. That means, once you get to a place, you never have to sail to it again... So basically, you go there once, then just use Viki. Oh, and she GIVES you the "Glowing Hand Mirror" (Blinking Mirror, you idiotic translators!!), so you can go right back to her FROM ANYWHERE!!! EVEN INSIDE PLACES!!!
She's on Nay (just go to the bridge to the Nekobold Village)... she makes the game much better...
Jr- It's called the "waking rune." Juan had it in 3 (I don't remember it in 1 or 2). Yeah, once I got Mitsuba, I ditched Ornan... but, he did get Chiepoo out of my party...
