Viki you say? .................. ................... ......................... .....................
Well..... o.k..... *twitch* . That DOES sound helpful.
I still HATE this game though >_< . But at least with Viki around I know I'll be able to finish the damned thing...

The game kind of hints that going to Nay is very helpful to visit after you get "THE BOAT!!" I read the newspaper after I got the boat and he finally had a new issue. After pulling myself away fomr the riveting story about "Madame Depression" (must have been talking about Lovely ), I saw the story about Bartholemew. Me: I remember him from the Nay-Kobold village. He wouldn't join me before, but he might now. On my way there I found Viki, and when I saw the glowing hand mirror and used it, I was like, yes Yes YES!!!! No more long hours at sea!!! Thank you Viki, you are my new best friend!!! I also just picked up Rene. It's a snap with the hand mirror. I haven't gone to the pirates island yet. I also noticed that the enemies are a lot tougher around Doughnut Island. Leviathan is lethal. I dithced Ornan immediatly after I found out his "ability"?! I also got rid of Chiepoo, he has a lot of speed, but he is just so weak. My party stands as Mitsuba, Reinhold, Tal, and me! I did make up a boat party, but they get mauled so fast it isn't even funny. I finally found a coop attack. With the two who are with Ramada. Have either of you any others that I could utilize. I could have sworn that Reinhold and Mitsuba would have had one since they were together before I met them.

Chiepoo is nice because he's not bad w/ magic. Uh, anyhoo, I haven't found Viki yet, but that's because I've been playing Rita's game a lot. I'm raking in the potch . Just the thought that I will see Viki soon helps me persevere! Finally, Lino (who is a horrible king in my opinion. He should of been a MAN and stayed on the island and been executed. coward runs off while leaving his daughter behind... hmph!) left me a message in the comment box. The message told my hero to smile, because, that's what good leaders do. I'm not sure if the note was MEANT to be humorously ironic, but I know I laughed.

Lovely- Yay!! Keep going!!! Ganbatte!!
Chibi-sama- Yup, that's the requirement for getting Bart... reading that article. Yup, Mizuki and Akaghi have a unite, as do them and Kate when you get her (go ninja!!). You'd think that Rienhold and Mitsuba would have a unite, but there isn't one listed on the GameFAQs guide. Mitsuba does have a unite with Selma (you'll get her later), though... I have a feeling that there are more that aren't in the FAQ...
Lovely- heheheh... Lino's actually kinda cool, and stuff'll happen soon that... well, I won't spoil you.
I don't remember if I got that letter or not, but there are some funny ones... Like Reinhold telling me to try out the training center right after I did...

Everytime I try the training center he tells me I don't have enough people.
Viki is just too cute Lovely. Wait until you see the unique way she attacks. Why am I powering up her staff Dessa? She doesn't really use it! XD
I'm glad I have Manu even if his elevator isn't much faster than the stairs.
I started treasure hunting and I found some good stuff. I'm missing a good ten treasure maps, but I still have plenty of places left to look.
My wife and can't agree Dessa. Can you answer this for me? Is Nalleo a girl or a boy, I say she's a girl but my wife thinks guy. I could have sworn it was said earlier in the game when you first fight Dario in Razril. I just can't remember.

*looks at news fader* o_0 kay...
Well, you know...I really wanted this game, but Lovely's remarks are making me think otherwise...XD
Is THE BOAT really just a boat? Or something else? o_0 resurie hates games with boats...T___T
**remembers back to the times she spent 20 minutes riding the seas in Windwaker on that stupid talking red boat**

Well, since all three of us that have the game (sad ;D ) I guess there is no real spoiling. The boat is a boat, but you are originally told it's a house. It's a little more detailed, but that's the main point. You do get a little crappy boat beforehand, but that doesn't last for long. Yes, it's a boat, but once you get Viki, you can warp to any place you've ever been and back to the boat again. You will only have to sail to new places. And that's not bad, because with the encounter rate in this game and more powerful enemies coming from everywhere, you get plenty of opportunities to level up. While I wouldn't ask Lovely for an endorsement for this game, I for one think it's a good game. I do not regret spending $40 for it. Oh yeah, I didn't spend a dime for it. (Gift Card!! ) But I would have spent the money if I had too!! ^^; (My point is lost!!!) XD

Because of Viki's ablity (besides warping from place to place, she can also warp through TIME. Though... she doesnt' realise this ^^; . Poor girl...) I know all about Viki ^_^ . She's cool, and it was nice to see her after the frustration I felt ^^; .
Um... I'm having a tolerable time with this game now. There seems to be ACTUAL story moments now! WOW! (slight ribbing on my part.) I can't really recommend this game though....
Hmmm...
Well, if things like character development, and ... welll... characters with personality are your thing, then DO NOT get this game. It's pretty cheap, character wise. The story is kind of weak too.
If you are the type that doesn't really care about those two things and you basically just like to um... do stuff. Then... give the game a rental first. I think milage will vary on this title.
Oh yeah, when you finally get to the point where you can play mini-games and stuff... some of them are oddly fun ^^; . I'm simply in love with Rita-pon ^^;. and I don't know why ^^; ...

I'm all for story and characters. XD Honestly, I love doing stuff, but sometimes it gets annoying...and repetitive.
And I hate battles that occur every few seconds (does that happen in the game?), I'll level up when I want to! I remember SoA had fights almost every 20 seconds...>_> And the DC's loud engine didn't help either...it was like you could foresee those cursed battles...damn loopers...
Off topic-ness aside, I can't rent the game (the only thing you can rent here are movies), so I can't try it out or anything...T_T
Considering all this...maybe this isn't a game for me. I'm not the patient type when it comes to games. ^_^;

^^; *SPOILER concerning your spoiler:*** DON'T KILL HIM! He's important to leave alive ^^; ! Seriously.*** For some reason I can't hate the guy. Maybe because he's the only one with personality (as flawed as that is). Maybe it's because I find him oddly humerous. C'mon! It's funny when he's being a coward! He makes this cute whimpering noise ^o^ . Maybe I just sympathise with cowards ^^; . (Lovely is a bit of a coward herself.) It could also be because his face isn't stuck in a constant glare.... I mean, c'mon! be honest. If someone was constantly glaring at you ALL the time wouldn't you do something mean to him ? Not to say I didn't try the option that you did Jr.. I didn't save afterwards of course, I just wanted to see how the scene would go ^^; . Oh, and Dessa... is it weird that my heart skips a happy beat when they mention "Scarlet Moon Empire" XD ? (It's a Suikoden I reference .)

Lovely- Just wait... my heart skipped two beats when they mentioned HARMONIA!!!!!!!
Also, you get some characters with personality later in the game... Not that they have a "good" personality, but personality nonetheless (creepy level, though). Why is it that the Tenkan Star always is rude (to some extent) and wants to be left alone?
chaos: Just be glad that even though Luc isn't in this game, your favorite character still has his star.
Jr- You can't kill him, he's a Star... And Nalleo is a boy... I thought he was a girl, too, until I saw the ending. The sure-fire way to tell gender is to take them into the bath.

You can't? It sure seemed like I did! I didn't save it either and my wife just looked at me with her mouth hanging open saying, "I can't believe you just did that!" I said, "I can't believe they let me!! XD" So no, I actually offered him a place on the boat, but he preffered exile. Jerk! Sorry. I did enjoy the Razril people shooting his ship with flaming arrows. That arm must have been bothering him again huh?

She means "you can't" as in, you shouldn't ^^; .
Anyhoo, today I discovered a way to make the hero more likable... make all his dialouge (or moments where he SHOULD have dialoug) be "Angry Glare". This works especially well if you say it out loud and in different ways!
Example:
Person 1: Timmy fell into the well! Hero: A-ANGRY GLARE?!
Person 2: Here hero, have some delicious cake Hero: *happily* Angry glare!
*something sad happens* Hero: a...angry... glare...
TO BATTLE! Hero: ANGRY GLAAAAAARE!!!!
Needless to say, I am destroying ALL the "dramatic moments" with this XD .
EDIT!!! When given the option to name the ship, guess what I named it ;D ? That's right, the ship is now the "AngryGlare" *dies laughing*.

ROFLOL!! I am glad you have found a way to amuse yourself in the game, Lovely... heh...
Chibi-sama- Yeah, what I meant was "You can't kill him! You have to recruit him to get the good ending!" I just thought you'd figure the rest of it out on your own... but I forgot that this is your first Suikoden game...
