"The Narcisists" of this game are hilarious XD , they saved the game for me.

*"The Narcisists"-- There are a few in each game of the series. Besides the name "Narcisists" (which means loving one's self) . The are also kind of... fruity ^^; . And a bit delusional I think... but they are allways fun ^_^ .

I named my ship "Gaignun" and my army the "SKU Milita"! The king didn'tr stand a chance either. I totally mopped the floor with him.

Narcisists huh? You've passed me up Lovely. I started getting the hand of Ritapon! (or so she calls it) I can get a few games up on her and then she will just go and totally blow me away before I can even get going. The game seems largely built on chance. There is some strategy, but I think it's mostly luck.

I've been taking my time and leveling all my friends up. All my party members are at a min. Lv.40!

Despite the bad, BAD begining. This game was worth it for just the following moment

I swear, when he attacked us I was laughing SO hard XD . I think it's just the concept that amuses me XD. Oh, but that outfit he wears is pretty hot ^_^ .

Oh! And when he said...***"Why doesn't anybody like me?"

Through my laughter I replied to the game... "Because... you're kind of a dork XD ."
But I guess I personally like him BECAUSE of that ^__^ .

FINALLLY finished the game last night.

Yeah, this is one of my least favorite games ever. Not because of the ending, but because it was just so.... FLAT.
The locales were boring
The characters (save for a few) were boring
the story was boring

Even the "bad guys" were boring.

The connection between people was hardly there. In the end, I just didn't CARE what happened to these people.

Also, the game just had some God awful design. The stairs in Et-Eal made me want to kill somebody >_< . And there are a LOT of sequences similar to this. "Hey, this game is kind of short, lets tack on some time by lengthing this long hallway and upping the encounter rate! Woo~ FUN!"



The final nail in the coffin was during the ending credits when they played some music from Sui1 and Sui2. It annoyed me because I loved those songs and games, but I don't love this one.

Some good points though.

***SNOWE! I liked him. He was one of the only developed characters, so that's pretty much the whole reason I liked him ^^; . That and his constant costume changes XD. Poor guy is kind of... broken, in the end though ^^:. ***

Ritapon! I'm not sure why I liked this mini-game so much (maybe because I cheated occasionly?) I dunno, I just had fun with it ^_^ .

Oh yeah, some of the sequences at the end, before the last battle, were cute. Also, the comment box was interesting because it finally gave some characters DEPTH. I found the confession room interesting.... but... kind of creepy.

I also enjoyed Ted's apperance. But I would think that would only be interesting to people that have played Sui 1... Oh! And Aldo was cool too *** Though it seems he becomes a victim of the Soul eater at the end ;_; . That poor goofy/friendly guy.***

At a certain point, collecting members became less of a chore and more fun as well.

Anyhoo, with this, I think the Suikoden series is dead. The series obviously can't go on without its original designer. The only hope I can see for this series is if Sui1 and 2 get re-released for the PSP or something.

In the end, I'm glad I finished the game though. AND I completed it with all 108 stars (Uh.. I cheat a bit at getting them ^_~.)
I probably won't sell this game (collectors mentality) but I DEFINETLY will never play it again. All in all, a disapointing experience.

BUT! To anyone who has this as your first Suikoden game (*cough*JR*cough*). If you even liked a LITTLE of Sui4 then you'll all out LOVE Suikoden's 1-3, so check them out if you ever get the oportunity.

Yes Ted was awesome. I beat the game a while ago. I got all 108 sttars and I just sat there watching saying to myself. This is the good ending?

Best combo was the Love Love attack with Charlemagne and Reinbach. Those two guys are just too fruity!!! XD

Wow. I can just imagine how the ending would have been if I would have missed a few.

My main party ended up being: AngryGlare, Ted, Mitsuba, and Kika. I just thought Kika was cool and her Falcon Rune was nice.

I gave Mitsuba the Double strike and Killer Runes so she was doing about 1400 damage on a regular basis.

But I went to Gamestop and picked up Suiko 3 for $25. I finished everyone's frist chapter and I am a bit confused.

The battle between Geddoe and Chris outside of Dark Hollow. Does that take place before Chris story begins or is that not really Chris or something. Things just don't seem to add up with Geddoe's story. I love the Trinity Sight System. After playing this game for a week, I must say: Suiko 4 sucks!!!

Oh yeah, if the answer to my question is a spoiler then don't tell me. I'm trying to stay suprised. Poor Lulu.

I haven't played Thoma's first chapter yet, but I'm almost done with Geddoe's and I have finished Chris and Hugo's first chapters.

The only problem I have with 3 is a fixed camera. I like how you can rotate the camera in 4.

The answers to your questions are a spoiler, and I'll leave it at that.

When/if you play Thomas' chapters keep in mind that his chapters are kind of slow. However, I loved his chapters simply because I love Thomas. Try to get Thomas to pick up treasure from a skeleton to see just one part of his personality that I love XD .
Basically, Thomas' chapters consist of trying to recruit people and leveling Thomas up a bit (Thomas starts off weak and at level 1). A lot of people write Thomas off as being to weak, but with a little work he's actually pretty strong. In fact, He has the ability to get an "A+" in wind magic.
*cough* Um... I went off a bit on a tangent. I really like Sui3 and the characters ^^;.

I went to GameFAQs to find a good path to play through the games. I played Hugo's first then Chris and now I'm wrapping up Geddoe's.

I saw a thread on their Suiko3 message board that was titled: Did anyone replay 3 after being disappointed by 4?

I laughed plenty at that subject saying," Yeah, I know a few!! XD"

Yeah, the camera really sucked in III... but at least you get a better idea of your surroundings than in Xenosaga II... Hmm, I wonder what's in this dir-- crap, another enemy...


Anyway, have fun with III. It's my favorite game out of the series. Of course, my favorite star is also the Tenkan Star, and III and IV are the only ones where the Tenkan Star plays a major role.

Dessa... as much as you liked the Tenkan star in IV (I liked him too) , he didn't really play a big role. I mean... his whole story was technically optional ^^; .

I've been meaning to report that I have actually played and beaten Suiko1 back when it was first released. I don't know why I thought it was Beyond the Beyond, but when I went to Gamespot and read Suiko1's review I said, I've played this game before.

And when I played the land war between the Mushroom and Mints that clinched it. I love how the land wars workewd in Suiko1.

My wife stumbled upon the mushroom/Mint war in Suiko4. I came home from work and she was just like "YOU ARE HOME JUST IN TIME!! I AM TOTALLY FREAKINg OUT!!!"

I looked at the screen and just said "Oh man that is so awesome!!"

So now the only one I haven't played is 2. and ebay has it going for over $100 now!

Not gonna happen!! ^^;

ah cool! so now the only one you haven't played is 2 ^^ . Awwwww... but that's too bad though. 2 is pretty awesome (that story had me in depression for a while ^^; . And it connects and builds off a LOT from 1 ^^
But yeah, the price for it 2 is kind of crazy now ^^;. Agggh... stupid Konami, release a remake so others can play!

True, Tenkan in IV ((we've all played IV, right? Can I start saying his name?)) doesn't play a HUGE role, but it's still an important role (given his position in the timeline). And it is still larger than the role of the Tenkan Star in I and II ((I know I can't say this one yet...)).

heheheh... I love that IV kept the tradition of the Tenkan Star being anti-social... "What do you want?" (to quote Tenkan in II).

To be fair... I don't think anyones role in IV was all that major now that I think about it ^^; .
And Tenkan in IV was at least given a personality (which isn't something a lot of people in IV had... ).

Unfortunately I don't remember much of anything from Suiko one except some of the story.

You are trained to join the empires army and then you realize they are evil and turn against your father, create your own army and fight him in the end.

I remember a dancer that you could put in your party. I thought it was wierd that she was a playable character. I don't even remember her name.

Heck, I didn't even remember I was playing Suikoden!! ;_;
