I think Yu-Gi-Oh is a go-on-and-on-and-on type anime, even though the manga's finished.
Funny...most of the anime released in the US is the type that has 51 episodes to a season (such as Digimon or Beyblade).

Doesn't anime in Japan not have re-runs, and that's why their seasons are much longer then ours? For example, Shaman King is going to go for two years in America, as far as I can tell, but in Japan it only ran for one and a half years. Correct me if I'm totally wrong. XD

_darkness_- I said that the continuous anime are USUALLY based off of a manga, that doesn't mean that they all are. And apparently, much of the anime we have over here is at least based on the events of the manga, just changed to revolve around the card game (or so SJ is leading me to believe).
NewBee- Actually, very few series released in the US are the 51/52-episode season series. Most anime released in the US is either OAV (originally direct-to-video), 26-episode series, or long-running series (this is what you get on TV, since they can keep it going as long as it's popular). Very few series released over here don't have set lengths (or are the aforementioned stuff that gets put on TV), and Dragonball is the only one of those series that has gotten a true US release (i.e. Japanese dialogue track + subtitles on the DVDs). The others are treated as children's programs.
windgoddess- Some popular shows are given re-broadcasts, either later in the week in an early morning timeslot, or after the series is complete (Sailor Moon is actually being re-broadcast in Japan right now). However, no, they don't do what they do in the US, play 22 episodes, then play commercials all summer, and play new episodes in the fall. April is the big time for new series premiers (coincides with the start of school, same as the US), and Shaman King would've gone for just short of 2 and a half "seasons" in Japan. Personally, I'd break up the episodes into 3 seasons: 1-26 (same as the US), 27-43 (I think... it's when they reach Patch Village), and then the rest of the series. What is recognized as a "season" in Japan isn't necessarily a 26-episode chunk. CCS's seasons go 1-35 (35 episodes), 36-42 (I think, 7 episodes), and 43-70 (could be wrong on the 43, but that's 27 episodes... maybe 43 is part of Season 2...).

I mean what I was saying is that most of the anime I watch seems to be cut in seasons consisting of 51 episodes...such as Digimon had four seasons of 51 episodes, Beyblade had three seasons...but then again, these are the shows whose seasons are REALLY different from each other...I mean, Digimon just skips years or goes to entirely different characters...Beyblade's art style changes...yeah.

I already have this conversation on another baord.. but here's the link for that. It is basically about your favorite part of Episode 39: darknesscorner.proboards44.com/index.cgi?board=Anime&action=display&thread=1104552471Please note that this is not on this message board, but on another person's message board that just got it created December 24. No, that person is not me, it's a person that just created their anime website on December so there isn't allot of posts. Thought i could help Midnight boost up the message board visits.

If that's true then I shouldn't have stickied Ep.27. Oh, well, I'm sure it's going to air again eventually.
And continuing off topic. In Shaman King: Power of Spirit, they call Macchi, Matilda. I guess that's their excuse for calling her Matti. At least they left Mari's name alone.

They call her Matilda because Matilda Matisse is her full name, o_0 Macchi is Matilda for short, but Matti is the same. (Erm...what Lovely said....)
Heh, thanks Windgoddess. XD

At my house there was a football game during Shaman King's normal air time. grrrrr. Stupid sports!!!!! Anyways, I guess we have to wait ANOTHER week. I really hope they have a new ep. next week. I kinda bet they will, just because holiday's are over and kids are back in school and what not, but you never know. Without new Shaman King dubs I have nothing to complain about. 0.0 (lol)

Well, since they reran the season two premier and SK 'IS' airing in my area today at 11:30, it looks like they are going to rerun all of season two until they reach ep. 39 again.
This week is ep. 27. They are going in order. At least Lovely should be able to fill in her missing comparison!!
