I never said Viz is at "fault". But if Viz has distributing rights, then they're the ones to contact about DVD releases. Also, as I've said before, guess who Viz is merged with? Shueisha...the corporate owners of One Piece. So they have more rights to One Piece than 4Kids does, technically. It's all a matter of contract. If it is true that 4Kids signed some deal that promised an uncut version, but 4Kids themselves are not distributing DVDs, but Viz is, then there may be some sort of deal worked out between all of that. After all, it was Funimation that used to release 4Kids uncut releases (but no longer).
Unfortunately, it was updated that Viz said they aren't planning on any uncut releases for One Piece, for which I'm very disappointed. So again, please do bombard Viz with angry (but nice and intelligent) letters. They are the ones that are selling the DVDs, they don't want to put out a product that won't sell.

You know what would be really awesome? If we wrote a letter to VIZ stating everything we know. You know like sales rankings. There is hardcore proof that uncuts sell better than edits and good dub (even edited) do better while on T. V. We know this, although not every detail, so reasearch would need to be involved, and should take advantage of it. Then we can state how many people would buy these uncut dvds. I for one would pay at least $40 for an uncut release of four or five plus episodes to a disc released bi-monthly. So here's what we do next. We get a whole bunch of addresses from One Piece fans across the U.S. (there must be hundreds) and get there signatures in agreement with the following statement. And not just typed signatures, real signatures! We can send them to the addresses we recieve and send the letter on it's way having each person who recieves the letter send it to the next closest guy on the list. How's that sound? In other news the reason 4kids has stopped releasing uncuts has been stated by Joe Lyons (the official uncut guy). He said (I'm paraphrasing by the way) that the cost of re-dubbing, re-scripting, and re-subtitling the episodes is too expensive and the income take of the dvds did not compare to those other expenses. BULL S*** I SAY!

Shueisha...the corporate owners of One Piece. Well, when I was talking about Viz not being at fault, I was saying that because now it seems that theres an onslaught of people who are going "Ohh I hate Viz" or "ooh Viz sucks that theyre not putting out uncut DVDs" etc., etc. Take a look at the ANN discussion and you'll see what I mean. If that's true, Then I would think that Viz would have the ability to produce an uncut version themselves (and they would use it at that!). I've heard about that. It's been said that 4kids signed a contract with Austrailian distributor Madman Entertainment to release an uncut version. They're even labeled as the Uncut Distributor on ANN (scroll down). Still, it seems like a very massive rumor, I'd like to see another really credible source on this if anyone else has one.

And just because I feel like reviving this thing... One Piece=GODLY LOVE! As for all of you SKN forumers who know about my obsession with Naruto, well, right now, One Piece is currently my favorite anime/manga since so far, it doesn't show any sign of lagging (especially in the water7 arc ) and I still love the deep friendship bonds that are weaved into the story! As for my favorite One Piece characters, I like: Vivi- She's the princess of Alabasta and she's willing to sacrifice her life to save the people of her country from the likes of Crocodile. Also, she's a very noble and protective person who will also help her friends in the most desperate times of need! Miss Valentine- She's my FAVORITE Baroque Works member. I really like her ability to change from different weights and her outfit is ADORABLE. Portgas D. Ace- Luffy's brother=HILARIOUS! When I first saw him in the manga, I was all, "Luffy's brother, eh? Hope he isn't an Itachi clone.." but NAW, he's just a kickass fellow! Tashigi- She is my anime alter ego I SWEAR! We're both clumsy and sometimes clueless, but if we put our minds into it, we can beat down a crew o' thugs! Sanji- THis guy is cool all around! I mean, he can cook, sway a lady off of her feet, and not to mention kick like crazy! (and in Water7, those chef knives *__*) also, I really think that he's a loving person to everyone in the crew, and those crazy bouts with Zoro make me laugh so warmly!

Really? I prefer the psychopaths who would go through hell, high water, and Calculus class to get to their dreams, like Luffy, Sanji, and Roronoa Zoro (secondary favorites are Nami, Nojiko, Chopper, and Bellemere). Although I'm starting to take a liking to that nutcase Dr. Kureha.

it doesn't show any sign of lagging (especially in the water7 arc ) Would that have anything do to with the fact that they are adding another character, Franky, into the mix?

Well, I still say that's not set in stone, although all the evidence does point in that direction.
Actually, some of the most recent chapters in Enies Lobby have seemed a little tedious and drawn out, I just hope they get to the main battles really soon. I really want to see all the finer plot points brought up earlier in the arc resolved so we can all put the recurring arguments to rest. *waits for Chapter 389 to show up*
As for the dub, next week is the start of Alabasta. Woohoo! Edits galore to abound!

How much you wanna bet that the little scrimmage between Vivi and Luffy gets cut/rearranged/screwed with. (Its the scene where Luffy tries to get Vivi to accept the fact that stopping Kohza and the rebel army isn't gonna save Alabasta and that they should go find Crocodile. To me, it also showed a redeeming quality for Luffy of being a lot more aware of a situation than others may think). And if 4kids really dosen't like character development, it won't be surprising if that happens.
"Just one of eleventy-billion edits to come on the next slab of One Piece....(of crap)."

It's not. It will be official when Luffy asks him to join, and he accepts.
Yeah, that scene with Luffy and Vivi will definately be cut or changed. Maybe they'll just yell at each other.

It's not. It will be official when Luffy asks him to join, and he accepts. But what I meant with official, was that Oda has said that he had written it into the story. You can't get any more official than that.

Wait, are we talking about the same thing? Oda never said anything about anyone joining yet so far.

Heh... Well I actually first heard about this form the Arlong Park forums. But now, it seems that theres an Anime News Network bit announcing the drop. They also seem to taking Tokyo Mew Mew (aka: Mew Mew Power) from their lineup too. Whether this is permanent or not no one knows. Hopefully yes, and then a company like Funimation can buy it off 'em. I can only hope though... (Oh and Throes, contrary to something you said in another thread, apparently 4kids DOES show reruns of their shows, ANN listed Winx Club and GI Joe as reruns)
