Heh, this update has some more specifics about the actual release. "August 02, 2004 More details have become available on the uncut versions of the Yu-Gi- Oh! and Shaman King DVDs due out this fall from 4 Kids via FUNimation (see "Uncut Yu Gi Oh and Shaman King"). Two volumes of each title, each with three episodes, will be released on October 19th. The bowdlerized versions, which were sanitized for American TV and DVD release, had purged all religious symbols, including crosses, pentagrams, and stars of David; toned down or eliminated depictions of violence such as the slicing of monsters, firing of weapons, and showing of blood; and reduced cleavage, lengthened skirts, and clothing added to reduce sexual content. Not only will the new versions replace these previously expurgated elements, they will also feature newly recorded English language tracks that will be much closer to the original Japanese script. MSRP will be $19.98." |

Nice to know that the video will truely be unedited ^_^ . Anyhoo, I'm posting to say that pre-orders for the first two disks can be found at CD Universe. Still isn't up on Amazon.com yet. (CD Universe has better prices in general though.) CD Universe's Shaman King page now includes the cover art and content descriptions. The description calls Manta "Morty"  . (I don't think I've kept it much of a secret that Manta is my favorite character in the show and that I don't much like Morty.) And also, they spell Anna's name as "Ana" which is just an odd spelling in general 0_o . My opinion of the art? It's alright, if a bit too messy what with all that text and some of the background art. I don't know... I will admit that I like the second volumes layout a bit more than the first though.

And also, they spell Anna's name as "Ana" which is just an odd spelling in general 0_o . Actually, that would be the correct form for translating the two mora that make up her name...but that totally doesn't explain why they put Morty in the paragraph...could be a mistake... |

Uncut DVDs rock  . Glad that stuff is getting uncut...I just hope the following won't happen midway through making them... *6 to 8 year old goes and buys uncut DVDs and watches them. Mother comes in, suddenly horried when she hears a character use the word "crap"* Mother: *turns off tv* Billy!!! What are you watching?!? Billy: I'm watching Shaman King Mommi! But it's a lot cooler than the one they show on TV! They say "crap" in this one!! ^-^ Mother: Billy, never use that word again! It's a BAD word! *Mother goes off to write a letter complaining to 4Kids and has all her friends sign it* Something like that happened in Shonen Jump. In Hikaru no Go a character was smoking, when it came time to put that chapter in a graphic novel, he no longer was smoking. That makes me sad because it seems that little kids are picking up Shonen Jump and reading it, even though it's rated "T" for teen. So, I'm saying that I hope a Mother doesn't complain and doesn't get 3,000 signtures on her peitition to 4Kids that might either cause the "uncut" DVDs to become "not as editted DVDs" or stop the DVDs entirely. |

But oh well.. I'll stand it if they make it a lot more accurate. Are they getting rid of the odd accents too? They better. O.O |

i happen to like that british accents.
just that lenny's pitch of voice was odd.. even i got use to that by now...
(im chinese btw... HAHAHA... but i dont have that hairstyle.)

Len's got a point. I really like the accents...it's a good style for Jun and Len and it really does things for Rio!
We just picked up the new Anime Insider...they say good things about the DVD release.
I'll read an excerpt, you guys can go out and buy a copy for the entire article:
"...the Japanese subtitle scripts are being totally re-written to be completely accurate to the original. The original Japanese music will also be included." that's quoted from Elliot Chang a PR spokesperson for 4Kids.
Though this same issue says alot of bad things about what One Piece had to go thru to get past the FCC and be aired on television...so I'd expect an uncut DVD release will have to be done there as well in the future.

does anyone know Ren's child history? well... other than the fact he seems "mind" tortured or abused by En... I mean he could of been sent off to some private school in England before he came to Japan... right? ...its possible... a little side thing: If I met Ren Tao in real life, I would ask him where his sister is ;D     OH YEAAA...... |

It says that they have recorded new English Language Tracks, does that mean that the dialogue that was edited out will be back in.

Apparently the dub will be entirely re-written to be more acurate with the original script. Well...except for the names 0_o .
In other news....
I hate my bank. I mean, I really, really, REALLY hate my bank. My check card expires THIS MONTH and they still haven't sent me my replacement card >_< . Sooo, not only do I have the stress of the bills that automatically charge my card, well... NOT being able to charge (and me having to pay late fee's). But worst of all I STILL haven't been able to pre-order the Shaman King dvd's yet. SO FULL OF HATE!
