(Aaaaagh, I'm running so late with everything this week ;_; .)
Um, this episode is the first episode with Chocolove! Weeee~ ! A character who all re-writers fear!
Chocolove makes a lot of Japanese to English puns. With VISUAL aids. So I can imagine he would be hard to write for even if for dub comanies that want to be accurate ^^; . What's funny about the jokes isn't that they are that funny, it's just that Chocolove delivers the corny joke with such gusto that you can't help but giggle.
If anyone complains about the jokes not being COMPLETELY accurate, I'm gonna come to your houses and beat you, seriously, just pm me with your house address (o.k, i'm kidding).
Weeee~ the majority of my thoughts this week are non-spoilery ^_^ . Ah well, here's a few.
*** ZenRyo/BoZ have a bit of trouble this week. Because I am a HUGE fan of these two it was a bit trying when If first saw this episode. Um.. Spanish dude (the name eludes me right now), oversouls bones, I'm just mentioning that in case it gets changed.
Lyserg and Marco have a... moment... this episode 0_o *laughs*. It's pretty.
Finally a very special character dear to all of our hearts is just like me. Simply searching and wishing for a Manta plusie XD .***

I LOVE this episode! I always laugh out loud even after watching it the 5th time XD!
I understand about the jokes....I seriously want to see what they'll rewrite them too....like I mentioned in the Predictions thread, I think one of those jokes might be kept, you know, involving Anna and the banana XD
I love Chocolove's final attack XD sure it's a bit disturbing, but what it includes made me laugh!
ooh, and Lovely, ** the spanish dude is named Peyote, (hehehe...Peyote...ring any bells? drug bells perhaps?) I don't know...I found it funny when he introduced all his spirits, it's like out of nowhere.."Carlos, Joe, Antonio, Jose, Panchi, Savada, Miguel. " XD (yes, I remember them all, believe me, I've seen this episode too many times.....) I guess I found it funny because in spanish the guy had an accent, not an english one..it's like a mexican accent I think...I seriously dont know, but whenever he spoke his voice would go higher, oh! sorta like dub-Anna, only he sounded cool doing it XD**
One last thing, guess what! My cable company changed signals again! SK is back at 1:30! GALORE! *goes crazy and shoots herself*

I'm so happy that I'm finally home to see Sk.I've been on vaction for the past 2 weeks and I missed 35 and 36!I hate my family's rule thta you have to leave the hotel room before 11:00 unless it's raining.How i prayed that It would rain!!
*COUGHS*Sorry 'bout that.I'm just so happy and it's coming on soon.I'll talk back when it's over.
I'm glad that i'm seeing it.I feel weak without Sk.

HAHAHAHAH!It was funny and they kept the CindlLENra bit in.I really like Joco's VA,I think it's great.But is it just me,but did Faust's voice change? ???It sounded like it.Maybe that was his calm voice and his usual voice is when he's fighting or something.I don't know for sure.I have to amdit,but the jokes were kinda lame but I still laugh anyhow. ;DI liked the ending when everyone is chasing around Joco.That was the best part! ;D

time for me to point out what i noticed. of course if you missed the ep, then these will be spoilerish. btw ryu, i agree. faust did sound diffrent in this ep.  i watched a clip where ren confronted chocolove and poked him in the nose with his staff, making chocolove's nose bleed...and of course...they cut out the poking and bleeding and went straight to the pain. thank GOD chocolove isn't ussop. im flip coin about chocolove's dubbed voice..give me some time to reflect on it. ren in a dress = best thing ever! when the first flashback about chocolove's past came on, it shows a dude getting mugged....i belive that they cut out a knife the mugger was holding. "stop! or i'll ki...destroy him with my fist!" spirit fusion...this confused me a little. i would think it would be the same as unity  anyways chocolove looks awsome...but the name...jocouar....(cross between jacko and jaguar) Mic....mews....luckily thou, he mews when he's a spirit ball. |

Chocolove's voice.........ooookay......
His jokes were handled better than I expected.
The crepe,Ciderella Ren,and clown jokes were slightly altered but otherwise okay.And Morty's explanation about Navel Rock was taken out.

 Oh my God.....They actually handled it pretty well. I was gearing up to go into an unholy fangirl rage today and there's nothing to scream about. The names were alright. The jokes were written in with at least some effort. The voice took a bit of getting used to, but it was alright. God, took all the gun out of it, hehehehe spirit fusion...this confused me a little. i would think it would be the same as unity Yeah, I was a little confused about that too. I haven't seen most of the original episodes. (I'm relient on WinMX for anime and sometimes, the episodes don't even work...VERY frustrating <_<...) Was that in the original? I've never heard anything about Spirit Fusion anywhere.

I think (note the think, this is not confirmed) that Chocolove uses his own body as an oversoul medium, hence the appearance of markings on his face and arms. FAUST DOESN'T SOUND BRITISH ANYMORE!!! YAAAAAY!!! I just hope he doesn't end up like "Tristan Taylor" (Hiroto Honda of Yuugiou) and have three different voice actors..."Joco's" voice was okay (in the opinion of someone who hasn't heard him in the original), he sounded uncannily like a VA from Teen Titans. I need to check voice cast lists now! And they kept the "moment" between Marco and Lyserg...they were *cuddling*, dammit.
I rather liked the way they handled this. But then, I like dubs.

LC declares this episode a technical masterpiece!
This is now my favorite episode. The flow of the episode, the masterful way they wove in the flashbacks at just the right moments, the follow-ups with the other characters...perfection. This has surpassed the 2nd Lee Pailong episode as my favorite...
I really like Joko's voice...it fits and it's not 110% over the top like the voices I heard in One Piece today...it feels like a natural voice for that character to have.
Everything story-wise just felt right (I know you people think I hate Lyserg because he's whiny...I REALLY hate him because he's not very well thought out as a character...we can discuss this hatred of mine in a different thread...but keep in mind I'm viewing him from a technical writer's aspect...) even Lyserg's short scene with Marco felt good.
Hmm...if I had to say anything bad about this episode it would only be that you have to know the Morty / Faust connection to understand the last segment...but that is really nit-picking. Other than that segment, the entire rest of the show stands up on it's own...it doesn't require any more than it gives...it gives any person that has never seen Shaman King an instant in to the overall plot...

^_^ This episode was pretty good, even if they did change Chocolove's name to Jock-O or whatever. At least he's still male, right? I bet if a character ever wanted a sex change in an anime they would cut that out, though. And everyone else is annoyed by Yoh's cheeseburgers too. I love Manta here. He looked so tiny when Faust was holding him, awww ^_^.
My glasses might have been blurred, but it looked like there was a marijuana leaf on Ren's "burger". Which wouldn't make sense anyways because that is usually credited to Yoh.

I LOVE Chocolove/Joco's voice! I don't know about the rest of you, but I think the VA delivers well. Of course I have no basis for comparison, but....
"Speaking of "address". LOL, that was hilarious! Marco and Lyserg seem to be very good friends now.... Poor Morty looked like he was going to have an anyeurism when Faust grabbed him.
Did Faust's voice change? I don't remember him sounding so high-pitched.

the funny part is when jocko gets SOCKED for joking and dressing Len...
now..
I guess im not use to Faust's "take pity im lonely" voice but he sounds different from when we first met him...
is it the same person who voiced for him the first time!?

I just about wanted to kill myself when I heard "choco's" voice. First off it is WAY too deep, he sounds like he's twenty, and second of all, the voice just doesn't fit his look. Sorry to all of you who think it was really good, I couldn't stand it. They didn't do too bad of a job with the jokes though, that I was happy about. My poor chocolove is lost forever.....
