thats true. cleaning up all that text would be alot of work. That's true, but if you consider all the work they put into cleaning up the dub in general, changing some text wouldn't have been that hard. >.< That pic though was one of the highlights of the episode. I love manta. *goes and hugs manta plushie* lol By the way, lovely, thanks for explaining some of Chocolove's original jokes, I never got a few of them until now XD |

And even though you said it didn't match the visual, I thought the "underwear" joke was the best one in the episode.
It was just so corny. I was totally not expecting it, and the way that Horo and Ryu started chasing him afterwards was too funny.
I also love your Faust rant about Crispin Freeman.
"It seems Faust has a new dub voice and it's still not Crispin Freeman!!!"
Maybe that was the same VA just trying to portray Faust differently and let's hope he will be back to his non-Michael Jackson self next episode.

i agree with lovely that mr. freeman would be the best candidate for faust. he's got the timid voice (kouichi of digimon 04) and then the harsh though guy voice (tsume of wolf's rain)
oh well, micheal jackson is doing a rather smashing job imo. oh man, i'd seriously be falling out of my chair if the credits said "micheal jackson"

He also does the "insane" voice down VERY well (Albedo from Xenosaga and Albel from Star Ocean 3). Oh, and for those asking for it, I have a sound clip of Chocolove's Japanese voice (Lovely, if you want it, go ahead and take it). It's from episode 60, but it's spoiler-free. The dialogue is Lyserg naming Horohoro and Ren, then Chocolove introducing himself to Lyserg, and Faust introducing himself (so you can hear Takehito Koyasu as well). www.mystwing.com/dt/dessa/lysergchocofaust.wav((p.s. You should hear 3 voices.
It starts out with "Ren-kun... Horohoro-kun..." That's Lyserg.
It's followed by stuff that I'm not sure what is in Japanese, followed by "Yoroshiku da na. Chocolove da." That's Chocolove.
That's followed by the deep voice (yes, it's Faust), saying "Faust desu. Watashi mo yoroshiku." ((yoroshiku is 'pleased to meet you', btw))

ahhh okay. im a visual person anyways. so if i hear something it's hard for me to picture where it's comming from. unless of course i've seen it before.

I'm thinking more of how he does Albel's voice on Star Ocean 3. He can get that 'crazy, insane' sounding voice (which he perfected doing Albedo in Xenosaga), but he also can do a 'normal' sounding voice.

He also did the voice of ... erm... the bad guy (forgot his name ^^;..) in Angel Sanctuary. It was this role where I first heard Mr. Freeman switch back and forth from crazy to ah... not so crazy.
*siiigh* Man, I'm getting depressed about him not playing the role of Faust again v_v ...
