During Unison, Crim says to Bear that he didn't know that Bear was a scholar, but the subtitles say that Crim says that he didn't know Bear was a user.
I thought he was a drug addict! ^^;
Which would account for his secretness about his "job".
Umm which episode was the revealing about his past job? And which reveals his name? I've watched the series a few times and I have never heard either.
I know that BT says something about school taking up a lot of his time, but they said that Tsukasa was logging in from HIS dormroom. They were talking about Bear before, so I assume it was Bear's dormroom. Which led me to believe that Bear was attending school and not running it.
Or maybe they were referring to Tsukasa as a guy. ^^;

The only evidence of Bear's player's info is in episode 24, The Eve. Where this is linked to Bear specifically (since it's not specifically linked to him in the show) is in one of the novels, I believe .hack//ZERO (which takes place after SIGN).
Episode 24 is one of my favorite episodes...
Spoilers, I guess... Bear's player's name is Ryo Sakuma, and he's the author of Annwyn Gaiden, as shown at the very beginning of episode 24. The quote from the book that Crim says is "Nashan, if you desire to know the truth... then you must know that you also need the courage... to accept it as well." Bear gasps a little when he says this, and the manuscript is shown again. Ginkan's reply of the following line is "Nashan does not reply to Wid's words... and takes a huge step forward." BT knows of the book also, and says that "Annwyn" also means "Other World," and when Mimiru asks if Bear knows the song, he only replies yes (no other comments on it are made by him). I find it interesting also, that right after this scene, when they enter Helba's gate, the song Edge is played, which is the opening theme to the first episode of .hack//LIMINALITY.
Don't have time now, but I'll go through Unison tomorrow to post the evidence from that (and maybe I'll post An's danglie, too).

Okay, so that's why they were flasing the manuscript on the screen. I was wondering what that was about. Thanks Dessa. I actually forgot about that part but I do remember the dialouge.

eeep... my bad... the music being played isn't Edge, it's Thousand and One Nights (Liminality Episode 2 OP).
Oh, and the "user" that Crim mentions in Unison is refering to your standard gamer...

So basically, Crim was surprised that his favorite author was also was a player of "The World" ^_^ .

I really enjoyed the Legend of the Twilight manga. Meirielle has to be the cutest character ever. I thought that Mistral couldn't be any cuter but they really outdid themselves with her.
I like TokyoPOP manga better than VIZ after what I've read. Tokyopop seems to keep more of the original dialouge in the text. They also keep the -sama, and -kun, and -chan in the names.
ONII-CHAN! Poor Reki in the Tanabata event! XD (I hate my job... XD )
I alos enjoyed all of the extras in Vol.3 The ad for Snake: The rate Story.
Meirielle: If you preorder now you get a complimentary futon slip-cover!
Rena: Liar!
Meirielle: No Futon? Then if you purchase one copy for 533 yen then you can get a second for the total price of 1066!!!
Rena: (sigh)

Also, has anyone figured out all of the .hcak: unplugged people in the back of it? Is that girl with the baggy clothes and short pants Hotaru?!?
Please, please answer me.

Ummm.... I need a clear-up.... In the 3rd manga, when Balmung calls the original .hackers, who's that other person with mistral? (sorry, i didn't play the games) I think it's pretty obvious that the other person is Kazu (Kaz). Or are you talking about Wiseman? Could you give me a page number please? Also, has anyone figured out all of the .hcak: unplugged people in the back of it? Is that girl with the baggy clothes and short pants Hotaru?!? From right to left, Magi, Reki, the person with their back turned is Balmung, Hotaru, Komiyan*, Kamui, Shugo, Rena, the little one is Mireill and the tall one with glasses is Ouka. *Komiyan-- There is small debate on this one, due to his hight. On another board someone thought it could be Kaz. However, I think it's Komiyan due to his eyes. Also, the .hack series makes it a point not to show the "real" faces of the characters who were in the REAL games. Hence the reason Balmung's face can't be seen.

Thnx. Upon closer inspection, that is Kaz. But one more question...
Who's that Helba chick who sent out an email to all the players? The one with her finger on her lips.
And isn't Magi a guy? On the "twilight trivia" page it says Magi and Reki are both "male PC's"

It's obvious you haven't seen the anime .hack//SIGN either!! XD Helba is a hacker. She basically does as she pleases. She has no connection with CC corp. She helped Tsukasa and the original heroes of the world and she also helped out Kite and BlackRose in the games. She actually has less of an impact in the manga aside from her key to the Net Slums. *curses Balmung Why can't I see your face?! >_< OH! I completely forgot to ask this. Am I a moron to ask who the hell Watari-san is? I know he's not from the game, but they refer to him as such an importyant character from the past. Is more of Watari-san revealed in another manga or what?

Kamui's idol-guy? I dunno any better than you. Maybe it's a personal flashback that is none of our business!

Well, I would believe that, if Watari didn't have connections to the "Twilight Incident". The manga says that he took the blame for the incident and was basically forced into retirement.
I'm just wondering if I missed something in the game, or the manag that would reveal who he was. What was his username in the world or something like that. They never show his face in the game or in the real world so I'm wondering if I'm supposed to know who he is, or if I'm supposed to be kept guessing.

Watari is from the novels. Apparently, the novels go deeper into the characters of BOTH Watari and Kamui.
Oh, and some other characters from the novels apparently make short cameo apperances in the manga.

You mean Zero and AI Buster right? I thought Watari was too intersting and not mentioned enough in the manga so it makes sense that he is explained somewhere. Thanks Lovely!

Actually, Lovely, there are FOUR characters that you DEFINITELY see the real life face of, who are in the games, and one that you POSSIBLY see the face of (I say yes, vanman says no).
And as for the pictures... I was actually thinking that the one next to Hotaru could've been Ouka (not the one that's Balmung, the other one). It's not mentioned that Komiyama is overly tall, or that Shugo and Rena are overly short, and there's a whole head difference in height for people in the same grade... And I was thinking that the woman behind Mirei was her mother, although probably not.
