Actually, Lovely, there are FOUR characters that you DEFINITELY see the real life face of, who are in the games, and one that you POSSIBLY see the face of (I say yes, vanman says no). Huh? Which four? I'm talking about people who STAR in the games, not the //SIGN cast if that is what you mean. And as for the pictures... I was actually thinking that the one next to Hotaru could've been Ouka. Ouka's "real" self makes another apperance in the manga on page 131 . You can see Ouka's freckles, hair, and glasses off to the side. Mirei's mom is on the same page watching Mirei play. It should be noted that the page itself doesn't have a page number, I had to count which page it was from the last numbered page ^^;. The page is the one directly across from Reki's e-mail to Balmung. |

The possible one is Helba, BTW.
Ah... I thought that that was Mirei again, I guess I read it too fast (that's what happens when you're waiting A WHOLE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!).

Black Rose and Kazu's faces are rather obscured in the photo though ^^;. BUT! I forgot about Mistral, yeah... you do kind of see her face. Would Seig really count for the games proper? He's more of a liminality character when you think about it . To be fair, the same thing could apply to Kazu... in a way... As a sidenote, in the photo of RL Black Rose and Kazu, it looks like Kazu has black hair... But he IS tall. Taller than his older sister! and that picture was taken when he was a bit younger too. Yeah... the casting of her VA as that lady was a bit odd.... Who knows if that lady was lying about not being computer savy. DAMN THIS GAME AND IT'S EVIL! Ah... I thought that that was Mirei again, I guess I read it too fast (that's what happens when you're waiting A WHOLE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!). I think it's because "Mirei" is just easier to pronounce. Her name is SPELLED "Mireille", but it's written in katakana as "Mirei yu" . It's just a mouthfull. |

Actually, if you pay attention to the manga, the CHARACTER's name is Mirielle (Mirieyu). The PLAYER's name is Mirei (Mirei).
Don't know about the Japanese anime, but the dub has her Character name Mirei.

I thought Mistral called her Mirei because she was just giving her a nickname or something. But I guess it would make sense to have adifferent name in the game. Even if Shugo and Rena kept there's and Komiyan nearly kept his the same too.

Don't know about the Japanese anime, but the dub has her Character name Mirei. Oh yeah, I know her RL name is Mirei . For the anime: In the subs, the anime has her name written as Mirelle (and it's pronounced "Mireiyu".) I'm just saying the dub changed the pronounciation to her RL name because to pronounce her gaming name properly is a bit of a mouthfull. (Lovely has trouble saying it herself ^^; .) |

Waaaaaai~ more games!*sigh* I'm such a consumer whore I know I'll be buying the new games when they come out. I just love the .hack series SO much. (On a totally related sidenote, the search function is a pain! Took a bit to find this thread ^^:. )

hm. well, i actually love .hack. i first saw a ad for it in opm(official playstation magazine which i don't subscribe to...it was my uncle's) then it told you the site to go and check out .hack so i went and wanted to see it like crazy. luckily ytv decided they wanted to put on .hack//sign after witch hunter robin was finished so that eased the pain of losing my beloved witch hunter robin. but anyway, my favourite character from the lot manga is the wolf girl ouka and black rose/reina. but my favourite from sign is tsukasa because he's... ... because tsukasa is so cute!! i feel so bad for poor tsukasa  |

I've only had a few experiences from .hack but I've absolutely loved it. The first was the Manga. It gave a great mix of adventure and humour (which, might I add was delivered brilliantly) Second was the first four episodes of .hack//sign (I want the second disk real bad now) I'll admit, I had a bit of trouble following what was going on at first but it soon feel into place. Most of all, I absolutely love the music. Now I really want to try the video game, it looks good.

Oh, I love it so ^^ ! I actually own THREE different size Gruntie plushies. 1st one, the medium one, came with the limited edition version of the first disk of //SIGN 2nd one, A plushie keychain that I purchased from an anime store. 3rd- The big Gruntie plushie from Waldens. I love my grunites so ^^ . |

And Mistral is the best character ever ^_^ . She acts the way I do when I play online games ^_^;;; . Mistral.. that reminds me of the font ^^; isn't the hack dub showing in canada now? |

Yeah, I'm a fan of the .hack series! I watched all of .hack//Sign and played all of the games the second that I was able to get to them ;D. Did anyone see the end of the SIGN series, the ending was so touching until Morganna had to open her trap (I hate her with all kinds of passion). It was a shame that I wasn't able to see a personification of her in the games so I could have kicked her *excuse me*.
Anyway I love almost all of the characters from Sign with the exception of Morganna. Heck I hate her so much that I can't despise Silver Knight and BT.
And I love all of the characters from the games (even that scary guy Piroshi) with the obvious exception of the Eight Phases and the Pig-head (Helba's pet name for Lios).
Also I love the characters on Liminality, although I swore that the woman who helped Yukichin in #2 was Helba. But I might be wrong. Bith the Black was just too cool in #4!!!!!

You hate ALL the phases? That's so mean... I mean.... *** Macha!*** I love pretty much all the characters too. But you have to admit, Morganna made a wonderful villan  . And the phases and what they represent was rather interesting. I liked Lios in a way too. He redeemed himself towards the end. Though he was still a bit of a pig-head *laughs*. Though it occured to me as I re-watched the series this past week... What ever happened to the REAL Harald? In SIGN and Liminaltiy it is breifly mentioned that he was "missing." I think the only thing the games reveal is the following quote from Hareld "I must speak with Morganna. To go where she is, the living flesh posess a hinderance. But, I must go. For our Aura..."
Um... something like that. That said, we know Harald put digital versions of himself in the world. But I doubt he would kill himself to do that. So uh... where is he 0_o ? Is he dead? I wonder if this will be touched upon in the new games (or maybe it comes up in the novels?)Changing the subject slightly, Another SORT of spoiler for .hack//TWILIGHT. The reason I say "sort of" is because I don't think it's canon. This spoiler comes from the drama cd for TWILIGHT. The thing is, I think the drama cd is based on the ANIME for twilight and not the manga. The anime is NOT canon, while the manga is. Anyhoo... As has been said before, There's lots of differences about the characters from the manga and from the twilight anime. *** In the drama cd's, it's apparently revealed that RL Hotaru is a boy.
Now... Hotaru's avatar IS technically a boy avatar (it's the same avatar type that Elk and Tsukasa use.) AND in the manga, the RL pic of Hotaru actually does look slightly ambiguous.
But I don't know, it's still a mystery ^^;. I'm pretty sure manga RL Hotaru is a girl. But, well, who knows.*** EDIT: Oh yeah, back to LIMINALITY. Yes, Bith the black is indeed cool. Concerning .hack//GIFT... That's such wonderful digital crack XD . |
