Actually, I found this article in a Star Tribune newspaper.
"Shaman King promotes violence."
"Shaman King is bad for your children because the kid's name is Yoh. Which rhymes with hoe."
April Fools, but yeah, gets me wondering...

My mom never really cared heck I’ve been allowed to watch R rated movies since I can remember as long as there wasn’t sex in them but when I turned 8 nothing was out of limits for me but X rated… witch I don’t want to watch anyway.
I guess some people really, REALLY just need to get a job in the case of most soccer moms, they don’t have anything better to do than saying that an anime was created by Satan. XD

Another reason why I think parents might not complain about Shaman King as much as something like Pokemon is because of its rating. Shaman King is rated TVY7, so the parents can already expcet it to have some content in it that might be "objectionable" for little kids, so if they don't think their kid should watch it, they could just tell them that they don't think they're old enough to see it or something. Meanwhile, Pokemon is rated TVY and is supposed to be safe for kids of all ages, and while it is safe for kids, parents will complain about anything that appears in a TV show that they don't like, such as the whole evolution theme and "forcing" monsters to battle against each other, so maybe it has something to do with Shaman King's rating. After all, you rarely ever saw parents complain about Digimon (which was also rated TVY7) even though it had all the same stuff that parents complained about Pokemon in it.

I also never thought Jynx was a black stereotype... I thought she was a slut, yeah, but "Black Woman" never crossed my mind. Especially since black people have brown skin, not black skin. I also never thought Mr. Popo resembled a black person, because HE'S DRESSED LIKE AN ARABIAN.

Even if those SK comments were true,it's up to the parents to decide if Shaman King is appropriate for their kids.If lazy parents would actually research these things,they would know that SK was not originally intended for the 6-11 demographic.If it wasn't so edited,it would at least deserve a TVPG or TV14 rating.Paranoid parents shouldn't get upset over every insignifigant they think will corrupt their children*coughX-Laws,JynxandChocolovecough*.If you ask me,most of today's youth is already corrupted by much worse things because parents are doing a half-*** job of getting involved in what their kids are doing.To me,irresponsible parents are mostly to blame.

My parents don't seem to care about Shaman King. ^^ Then again, I'm 18.  Besides, we're not a religious family etc, so they don't really care. ^^; |

I actually have the old Electronic Gaming Monthly that talked about what I mentioned ealier about Pokemon being satanic I found a link that has that article posted. Omigod. My parents didn't care what i watched, and still don't. Hell, I was watching Inuyasha at 10! As far as my mom's comcerned, as long as there's no sex, and such, I can watch it! The pokemon hype: my mom didn't care. She thought it was just an innocent children's show.

My parents don't really care what I watch really.As long as I don't repeat anything bad in it(ie.drinking,smoking and swearing) they're cool with it.ALso my dad used to watch YYH with me and my brother when it was still on .(IS it still on? I haven't seen it in awhile)The only questions he would asked is what happened so far and who's that guy and such.They're really okay with it anyhow.My mom just gets mad with me when I buy a lot of manga because she doesn't understand it,but my dad does.
To all soccor moms and parents to complain:DO ya reasearch on the shows and how it affects ya kids and if it's bad then do something about it!

Now I wouldn't say that he's poor because I don't think most people would have a nice motorcycle like he does and those "other delinquents" are his friends.They're a bunch of outcasts like him and they don't do anything that bad,so I don't think he's a hispanic sterotype.
