I'm surprised I haven't heard of any parents complaining about Shaman King... Pokemon had tons of complaints.
1) Parents kept finding "Hidden religious symbolism" in the cards
2) Parents said that Pokemon will cause kids to support the occult... or, in their eyes, any religion that isn't christianity.
4) Parents said that the Pokemon TCG would cause their kids to start playing magic: the gathering, which would turn them to the occult.
5) Parents said that the Pokemon TCG would cause their kids to play Dungeons and Dragons, which would turn them to the occult.
6) Parents said that Pokemon was a violent influence.
7) Parents said that Jynx was a Black Stereotype.
However, I haven't heard a single complaint about Shaman King, which....
1) Has kids attacking and trying to kill eachother for the sake of becoming god
2) Hass 100 times more stuff involving the "occult" (or Buddhism... or Taoism... or Hinduism... or whatever you wanna call it...)
3) Chocolove is an EXTREMELY blatant black stereotype
4) The Boris and Faust episodes.
5) Portrayals of Christians as psychotic "punishers" (X-Laws)
6) A minor gets killed in plain view (Ashil)
7) Rio is a hispanic stereotype. He's always trying to get laid, he's poor, he's violent, and he travels around with a bunch of other delinquents. (Of course, he's only hispanic in the dub...)
8) Kids with weapons.
9) En (while he's only Ren's uncle in the dub, he's still a family member) beats up his son/nephew.
10) Boris's spirit looks like he's about to be tied down, hot waxed, and paddled.
The list could go on...

If Shaman King isn't that popular among the 6-11 demographic, maybe that is why parents haven't complained...

Why would you want them to complain anyway? You trying to encourage more edits in the dub?

I'm with Mitsukai! Shaman King gets no love. And by that I mean random hate ;D .
It IS odd though, I mean, even WITH the edits Shaman King is just FULL of stuff that gets by and the complainers are just letting it go. I swear, crazy people are just so lazy now-a-days *laughs*.

And you know what else is weird?
Hao's Hao-gos say Hao, while the card says Zeke.
Dub-watchers: Oh! Zeke must like that brand of shoe!
And they don't edit talismans that Jun has.

Well, 4Kids has no say in how the cards are translated, other than the character names. Therefore, all kanji and original text in the pictures remains.

There's another complaint I'm surprised some certain soccer mom didn't put in (This references how stupid she is to differ between Gundam Wing and DBZ)
Considering she wrote once that DBZ was a stupid show, in which the characters used their brute strength to beat each other up, she then says that Gundam Wing is better, because they use politics... Ummm, did she not see the whole thing? The whole stuff like Mr. Winner dying? Chopping Mobile Suits in half? Gunshots? She seriously needs to get her sense of violence prioritised.
Now, here's how I think her next letter would go:
"Shaman King is an awful programme, because it features small children running around with weapons, with which they hurt and kill each other, and there is one little boy who kills quite a few, with a large red giant. There is a lot of stereotpes on Evangelism, from these mean people called the X-Laws, who go around with guns, intimidating people into thinking they are right, even if they don't shoot.
Now, Gundam Wing! I think our children should watch this, definitely! They use politics and big words, and giant robots, which is a lot better than beating each other up, to just win a tournament. The boys look a lot more grown up, than those little boys in Shaman King, anyway."
Note, that I omitted any reference to guns being actually shot in Gundam Wing, robots crushing others, and the fact that the Gundam pilots are actually around the same age as Yoh-tachi.

I can't believe people are still using the "Hao-gos" term that I coined...

You know... I could sort of see why someone would think the violence in Gwing is more appropriate than the violence in DBZ.
Gwing tries to promote pacifism up to a point. But it also takes a look at the effects of war, on both the soldiers and it's people. Not only that, but it's basic theme as it goes along is that "war is bad."
DBZ comes off as being more shallow. It glorifies SINGLE battles up to a rediculous degree. "To save the world" o.k, sure... but in the end that just ends up sounding rather vauge.
Well, now I'm totally off topic so my apologies *bows*.
Shaman King handles the morality of things rather well too, but with all the spirtualism you would figure more noise would be made about it *laughs*. I suppose people figured from the start that it was an "evil show", and not even trying to "disguise" itself, so they just let it go. Too easy of a battle for them *laughs*.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a thread a while back in the General forum about how the Christians were after Shaman King?

Yeah, there was. I don't remember which forum it was in though. >< And I'm too lazy to look for it in Search. >> << >>
Well, I really don't know what else to say. Where I live, violent shows aren't that big of a deal.
...Well, except to my school. >>
