The original title of this episode is "Chou Senji Ryakketsu" so of course the title of this thread just HAD to be my nickname for it ^_~ .
This episode is a "training" episode. But it's done in a different way than most shounen shows, so it's interesting because of that.
Anyhoo, man you guys are lucky that I love this show. Just today I was thinking that I didn't want to watch Shaman King today, but as I started to watch the episode... well,... I just love this show ^_^ !
Episode 40 is FULL of dialouge and "moments" and it contains very little fighting. As such, the dub will probably change a lot XD . (The dub tends to do better on action episodes than dialouge filled episodes. Except in the case of the Hanagumi episode. Don't know WHAT happened there ^_~ .)
This is one of those episodes that looks different. And there are a lot of good character shots. Since the events in this episode are rather important to the overall plot, I'm assuming more of the budget was used in the making of this episode.
Today I'm going to do the spoiler section of the first post of this thread in the same style I write my notes. In other words, it probably won't make sense unless you've seen the original episode. Ah well

Yoh: *to Manta* Hey, You haven't grown.
*Chocolove does a LOT of stupid jokes in this episode. I identified with Manta in going like this ----> 0_o . and like this ---> -_- .

Manta's computer (first apperance I think)
Hao pants XD !
Jeanne shows her face
Embarrased Mic (that poor spirit)
Lovey dovey Faust and Eliza (expect to see a LOT more of this ^o^ .)
*This episode has the second conversation between Hao and Manta (2nd convo, 3rd meeting). Once again, Hao just says the most Unintentionally cruel things to the poor little guy.
* Braveheart plays again (but it fits), and Northern Lights Balad style plays (though without the vocals.)
Actually, that ballad style of Northern Lights really helps the scenes that it plays in. It takes what could potentially be a boring set of scenes and makes them very melencholly instead. Good direction choice there.
The episode ends with a great, but subtle Anna and Yoh moment. ...That, judging by past episodes, will probably be totally changed in the dub v_v . *sigh*.
The "next episode preview" for this episode was funny because it consisted of Manta doing impressions of many of the main characters. It was cute ^o^ .
To finish up, the most fun thing about this episode is the fact that EVERYONE is finally together. It's just... a nice feeling ^_^ .

Oh, by the way, in case you all are wondering where the heck episode comparison 27 is. Um... well... I just didn't feel like doing it yet ^^; . It'll come eventually but... Um... cut me some slack?
